I gathered a load of similar parts to do this but the amp I had couldn’t power the driver so I kinda lost interest, think I bought a w driver by accident and only had a 10w power amp so it was inaudible. Its actually overdrive that makes the horn work right for a voice box, but yea, you may want something cleaner and add drive to that afterwards. Do I need a 50w amp to drive this, or should I stay on the low side? Does anybody know about the frequency range? This way the tube doesnt have to be 6′ long and you dont loose all that sound quality. I’ve used my littel marshall practice andp, and unstalled a speaker out jack that kills the internal speaker.

You dont want a high frequency driver because they might have an alluminum element and just put out high frequency only and shread the element if you try to push the mids you need. Log in or Sign up.

This way the tube doesnt have to dih 6′ long and you dont loose all that sound quality. I think a real talk box with a horn driver is a good project and very simple.
Your mouth will mask all that completely. I scored a driver off EBay about 15 years ago really cheap. Keep on mind, you are going to be putting all that horn power in your mouth and it can rattel your teeth.
Here was my first attempt at it before i got the driver. I even found a wide selection once in a store in Tucson that specializes in plexiglass.
There is a hole drilled in the top hon the hose barbs to come through. It’s not going to hurt anything pushing it with a 15 watt amp.

It’ll never see it’s full potential. Just found an takbox Marshall amp that happens to be 15w, 8ohms. I used right angle Switchcraft jacks for the patch cable so there are no protrusions from the back of the amp. Besides, you’ll probably run it without a crossover and to handle lower frequencies the lower the power the better. I run mine with both the guitar amp running and hor for the voice box driver.

If i play the low e too much will i damage my driver? This is the implementation that I am currently using. Any other diy talkboxes here? Capital letters were always the best way of dealing with things you didn’t have a good answer to.
How do I know these things? Its not like you’re driving a regular guitar speaker and will be using alot of other effects or using it clean. Advertise on the most comprehensive and widely viewed musicians’ website. So i like this setup because if i find a cheap 20 or so watt amp it can just convert it over.
I’d stay away from going full power, that is, a 50 watt amp into the 50 watt driver full range. One of these will work http: So mine gets screwed on a ways and ttalkbox secured with some attractive black duct tape.
Talkbox Project I found its just as effective using the littel smokey and tallbox lot easier to set up. I Think electric guitar goes from 83hz to about hz.
